I'm not a hardcore Metal music fan. In fact, I do not listen much from that genre. My first experiment was with Megadeth during my teenage and it totally freaked me out. Their music way too much for me. But somehow I came to like Metallica and their songs a lot. I do not usually bother much about the lyrics in Rap or Rock music, so it doesn't really bother me if such songs contains rebellious or swearing words. I just enjoy the music part in those 'release yourself' mood. :-)
One of the rare music videos I have seen includes a live concert of Metallica with the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestra. That show perfectly illustrates how classical orchestra can be used for a hard rock/metal music show. And I loved it!
In the last month, I came to know about this Finnish Cello Metal band called Apocalyptica. This band was formed with classically trained musicians who play Cello. And their music seems very interesting. Apocalyptica is famous for their covers of Metallica song. They used to release such cover albums and now also create their own music. Check out their official You Tube page and read more about them here.

Interesting stuff, but I still prefer the cello in the context of a classical composition :P Its a really beautiful instrument and you can barely hear it over all the screaming and headbanging! That being said, Scandinavia seems to be a hotbed for fusion musicians these days. Having listened to Finnish-cello-rock here is some Finnish Bhangra!

True that Cello doesn't sound fit for a rock concert. In fact, it seems odd to see the tatooed folks playing Rock on Cello. :-) However, I like it for an experimental sake.
Thanks for the info on that Finnish bhangra band. It sounds interesting! I will listen to it soon. :-)
