It has been a long time since me and Swatiji were planning to do a song together. We were planning to do a cover version of some Hindi song. That is when Ajay suggested this wonderful idea. He said he would write Hindi lyrics for a Malayalam song that was a hit some time ago. The Malayalam song is Thumpi Kinnaaram from the movie Naran, which was composed by Deepak Dev. What a wonderful idea, I thought. So here is Tanha Lamhon Mein, written by Ajay Chandran and sung by me and Swati Kanitkar.

So here is my first duet with Swati Kanitkar. Do listen to this song and let us know your thoughts. :-)

Original Malayalam song credits:
Music: Deepak Dev
Movie: Naran
Sung by: K. J. Yesudas, Gayathri

Tanha Lamhon Mein credits:
Song: Tanha Lamhon Mein
Lyrics: Ajay Chandran
Sung by: Jo & Swati Kanitkar

When I read your comment and before I listened to the song I was sceptical of how it will sound. Usually, many of the songs written for south indian movies may not sound very good in hindi esp. sometimes the lyrics do not go with the music well. However, after I listened to this song I said FANTASTIC !!!!

    Hats off to Ajay...wonderful lyrics..

Swati..you are too good..I loved your voice... and

    Jo..You sung very good...your hindi was 99.5% perfect !!!!!

I am waiting for more such songs....This idea will give lot of hindi speaking music lovers to listen to different and wonderful songs from malayalam/tamil movies.

    Hey Jo,

Here are some of the words were you had some diction issues (it will be difficult to correct here though):-

dil udtha hai yahan (dont stress on 'l' of dil so much.)

khwabon ka (n is just an enhancer here not to be completely pronounced.).

Aaj hum kho jaaye (kho sounded like ko)

in haseen sapnon ko (again n)

As someone posted here b4, feels like to hear old Asha Bhosle songs. You really recreated the mood of the song exactly the same, eventhough you dont understand Malayalam.
