Here is Ente Khalbile from the movie Classmates. This song is simply the best because of its lyrical quality and music. When I say 'lyrical quality', I don't mean that this is a classic poem sort of song. You will have to see the movie to enjoy the lyrics. Because in the movie, this song is a poem written by a girl who scribbles for her unknown lover. So you don't expect high-standard lines for such a poem.
The lines like "ninte punchiri paalinuLLile panchasaarayaavaan" would remind you of the poems you/your friends had written in the early college/school days. The lyricist has got a good understanding of the story line, thus come this simple yet beautiful song. This song was written by Vayalar Saratchandra Varma, son of the great Vayalar Ramavarma.
The background of the song is the singer stealing the notebook of the girl who wrote this poem (she doesn't know about this) and he gives music to it and sings on stage in the college festival to her surprise, thus letting her know his love for her. Beautiful, isn't it? This song is much popular these days, especially amongst the youngsters. Let me know if I did justice to the song. :-)

Dear Jo,

I am glad to listen the latest hit song in college from you....Perfect singing with the right voice......From my litttle experience what I felt was the note at `athar onnu vende' was a bit altered. Just try listening to the original version and see the difference. It is a very minute change.....also concentrate a bit more at the high notes......But the FEEL.....SIMPLY GREAT......KEEP THE GOOD JOB.....You have simply a superb voice.
Well sung. One of fav songs and Congratulations on photgraphy prize. It really is an excellent photograph.

Jo,
I try to read your blog only in the day times. Because I know that there will be a song and I do not want to play in the nights since everyone is fast asleep. But glad to know that you have won in the photo competition. That was a great picture. Yes...Kids are wonderful to be taken pictures. You get great emotions and they come out very well many times.
Nice song. You like some songs only after you listen to them for some time, but this is one song which I liked the very first time I heard it. Maybe bcos of its simplicity as you said. Very well sung Jo, keep it up.
And congrats for the first prize. I had told you that you will surely win. :)
It is day time now and thought of listening to your song. WOW... it is wonderful. If you had not written sung by yourself, we would not have come to know. I could find great maturity in your voice.
>> JamesBright: Thank you bro! Glad to know you liked it. Thanks for all the encouragement.
>> MagicLens: Thanks ML, and I its been sometime since I've been tagged. So will do this one in this week itself. :-)
>> Divya S Menon: Thanks you very much for your observations Divya. High notes... yeah, you are right. :-) I should concentrate more on the high notes. Its the lack of practice I think. For me, the job has to be the main thing and music can be only second considering my commitments in life. :-) And thanks for your kind words of appreciation.
>> Alexis: Thank you Alexis!!
>> Suneesh: Thank you very much Suneesh bhai! :-) Your words encourage me to sing more.
>> Lil Kath: Thanks a lot Kathy. :-)
>> Murali Ramanathan: Thanks a lot Murali!
>> Sam: Thanks man! :-) And hey, post something in your blog soon!
>> Ann: Hey Annie, thanks much!!! And yeah, you will be really nostalgic after watching this movie! :D
>> Thahseen: Hey Thahseen, glad to see your feedback. Thank you very much for your kind words.
>> Suji: Hey, yes you did! :-) Is there anything like a lucky friend (like they say lucky star, lucky number etc?) If there is one, I think its you. :-) Nilaavinte Neelabhasma and now this one! Interesting, huh? :-)
>> Balaji: Thank you very much bro. I value it a lot. And thanks for your compliments about the photography competition also. Glad to know you liked the song!
Well done Jo. This song also has that very special "Jo signature" on it.
BTW, you get the first prize in the photography competition only because I couldn't submit mine in time :)
>> Roji P Thomas: Thanks budd! And I thank God for you didn't submit your entry on time! :-))
Good job Jo...
Your description reminded me of a Tamizh movie which came almost 6-7 years ago with a similar situation (-:
That song is a good one although the movie sucked big time *LOL*
>> Meera: Thank you very much Meera!! I appreciate it a lot.

>> Sherin: Thank you very much Sherin.
Hi Jo: I hadn't paid much attention to the original song, and was not a big fan until I heard your version. I was thinking why I liked your version better and my answer is this: the tonal quality. Your voice has a natural musical tone to it, rather than a conversational tone. In general it is also smooth. Did you notice a "Vidysagarish" nature of the song, somewhat like "Karimizhi Karimizhi" song from Meesa Madhavan? But Alex Paul should be lauded for his simplicity!
Keep singing!
KK
>> Krishnakumar: Thanks a lot KK! And your observation is right. Somehow, Alex's style reminds us of Vidyasagar who is a melody king in Malayalam. If Alex will keep going on like this, we sure will have some gem of songs. :-)
Hey Joseph...Hope you remember me!! Great to listen to this song.. Infact a friend of mine gave me the link and wanted me to listen to this song. If he is to suggest something, then I wouldnt have to comment on anything. Infact I didnt know it was you......You are reaching places buddy....Keep it up...!!! Glad to listen to your song sitting miles and miles away from out small town...
If you really want me to comment, I would just echo Divya's comment which said, listen to your high note...
Bye now
Terry
>> Terrance: Hello Terry! Glad to meet you here!!
Hey Jo
